The Holmes Report’s Independent PR Firm Forum

Davis & Gilbert is a proud sponsor of the Holmes Report’s Independent PR Firm Forum. Brad J. Schwartzberg, Co-Chair, Corporate Practice Group, will moderate a session titled “M&A as A Growth Strategy for PR Firms.”

Darwin called it survival of the fittest. Today’s strong, independent public relations firms are strategically focused and are not just surviving; they are thriving. They are thriving both by organic growth and strategically acquiring other PR firms. Not so long ago, independent PR firms thought of M&E solely as an exit opportunity, but today’s industry leaders are finding tremendous success by moving away from that line of thinking and exploring how acquisitions can take their business, revenue and reputation to the next level: a 1+1=3 strategy.

The session will be kicked off by Davis & Gilbert Public Relations Law Chair and Litigation Practice Group Co-Chair, Michael C. Lasky, who will share the results of the research jointly conducted by the Holmes Report and Davis & Gilbert on the trends motivating strong independent firms to merge with, or acquire, other firms. Mr. Schwartzberg will then moderate a lively discussion with his co-panelists on what is leading independent PR firms to enter and succeed in implementing an acquisition strategy and how they are doing it, with special attention given to mergers and strategic alliances.
