New York State Restaurant Association Best Practices Program

Davis & Gilbert will host a NYSRA program titled “Best Practices for Preventing Employee Harassment and Reducing Legal Liability” presented by Shira Franco, Davis & Gilbert Labor & Employment Counsel.

Ms. Franco will provide guidance for restaurant owners on how to identify and prevent harassment by restaurant employees. Some of the issues she will discuss include:

  • Types of conduct that constitute sexual harassment and harassment based on race, national origin, religion and disability
  • Strategies to prevent employee harassment in your restaurant, including the importance of an anti-harassment policy and employee training
  • How to effectively address employee harassment and retaliation complaints
