Zachary N. Klein is an associate in the Digital Media, Technology & Privacy; and Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Practice Groups of Davis & Gilbert. Mr. Klein advises clients of all sizes, from small agencies and startups to global brands regarding privacy compliance, data security incidents and breach response, technology issues, and allegations of false advertising, misrepresentation, or unfair trade practice. He reviews privacy policies, vendor agreements, data processing activities, and internal policies and practices, counseling companies on how to minimize regulatory and compliance risk without sacrificing their business objectives.

Prior to joining Davis & Gilbert, Mr. Klein served as a Deputy Attorney General with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office. During his tenure as a deputy in the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Section, Mr. Klein conducted internet privacy and data security investigations, and initiated civil enforcement actions for violations of the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, the New Jersey Identity Theft Prevention Act, HIPAA, COPPA, and other data privacy laws. He also investigated and litigated matters involving False Claims Act violations, false advertising, off-label marketing, and regulatory issues concerning outdoor advertising and billboards.
