Davis & Gilbert Achieves Excellent Results in The Legal 500 United States 2016 Ranking

New York, NY, July 6, 2016 – Davis & Gilbert once again garnered outstanding results in The Legal 500, the world’s largest legal referral guide. The 2016 United States guide ranked the firm in five practice categories and recommended 21 attorneys.

For the 10th consecutive year, the firm earned a top-tier ranking in the category Media, Technology and Telecoms – Marketing and Advertising, and was also ranked in Tier 3 in the Media, Technology and Telecoms – Technology: Data Protection and Privacy category for the fifth year. In addition, the firm was ranked in Intellectual Property – Copyright (Tier 5); Labor and Employment – Workplace and Employment Counseling (Tier 3); and Real Estate and Construction – Real Estate (Tier 5).

Marketing and Advertising
The Legal 500 United States said clients described Davis & Gilbert’s advertising attorneys as "outstanding" and "very responsive to clients' needs," and complimented the group on its "highly practical advice based on exceptional industry knowledge and great business judgment." The publication highlighted the group’s recent standout advisory work on behalf of brands and agencies, as well as in disputes in court and before regulatory bodies, including both a recent FTC inquiry and an NAD appeal. It also noted the practice's "substantial" social and digital media work on promotions, IP and data privacy matters.

Ronald R. Urbach, Davis & Gilbert chairman and co-chair of the Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Practice Group, was once again recognized as a "leading lawyer" in this category, with clients praising his "invaluable" counsel and noting that he is "one of the best advertising attorneys around."

Technology: Data Protection and Privacy
Maintaining its ranking for Data Protection and Privacy, the firm was recognized for its recent work "advising children's advertisers and their agencies on COPPA and HIPPA compliance and cross-device tracking" and its work counseling clients on self-regulating procedures in mobile privacy matters. Digital Media, Technology & Privacy partner Gary A. Kibel was recommended by clients as "extremely knowledgeable and understanding," and partner Richard S. Eisert's knowledge in the area of social media data security negotiations was highlighted.

Intellectual Property: Copyright
The publication quoted clients who applauded the firm's Intellectual Property Practice Group for its "outstanding industry knowledge," and it mentioned the firm's scope of work on behalf of clients "in the wider media and entertainment industry." Intellectual Property partner Ashima A. Dayal was cited by clients as a "practical and efficient problem-solver," and the recent work of Intellectual Property litigation partners Guy R. Cohen and Marc J. Rachman was recognized as well.

Workplace and Employment Counseling
Clients exalted the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group for its "excellent … knowledge of U.S. employment law in all jurisdictions" and referenced its "unmatched advertising industry knowledge." The group's work surrounding social media and new technologies was also highlighted. Eight partners in the Labor & Employment practice group were recommended as "experienced problem solvers," "amazing" and "excellent negotiator[s]," including the co-chairs of the firm's employment practice and a co-chair of the Benefits & Compensation practice group:

Real Estate
The guide praised the firm's Real Estate Practice Group for its "well known … leasing expertise, particularly in the retail sector." Real Estate partner Gerald R.
