Employer Mandate Under The ACA: Navigating the Final Regulations

Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), large employers must offer adequate
health care coverage to their full-time employees or pay a tax. This is known
as the ACA “employer mandate.”

This comprehensive seminar will take a look at the fundamental concepts related to the employer mandate. In particular, the seminar will focus on the newly issued final regulations, including important rules issued most recently on March 5. Nearly every employer will be affected by these regulations. Now is the time to review your ACA compliance plans in light of the ACA final regulations.

A significant amount of time will be spent discussing how to implement the ACA and apply practical solutions to the various challenges. Don’t miss the important steps that must be taken now to meet the January 1, 2015 compliance date.

Some of the issues to be addressed include:

  • Characterization of ‘large employer’ and transition relief for determining ‘large employer’ status
  • Transition relief provided with regard to 2015 coverage requirements for employers with fewer than 100 employees and for certain employers with fiscal year plans
  • Measurement methods for determining full-time employee status and counting hours of service
  • Information reporting obligations
  • Subtle risks, pitfalls and dangers inherent in the regulatory guidance
