Kate Barry is an associate in the Advertising, Marketing & Promotions; Intellectual Property; Entertainment, Media & Sports; and Digital Media, Technology & Privacy Practice Groups of Davis & Gilbert. Ms. Barry advises clients in advertising, marketing and media law matters, including on copyright, right of publicity and other intellectual property issues and regularly reviews advertising copy for legal compliance on behalf of both agencies and brands. Her practice also includes negotiating and drafting agreements relating to all aspects of advertising and content production, counseling clients on sweepstakes and promotions, and advising on complex state and federal regulatory issues, including compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) and state telemarketing laws and regulations.

Prior to joining Davis & Gilbert, Ms. Barry was a legal fellow at Gannett and the USA TODAY Network where she assisted on a variety of newsroom and advertising issues. While in law school, she worked as a student attorney for the Community and Economic Development Clinic, where she provided transactional and IP advice to non-profit and neighborhood-based organizations in Detroit. Ms. Barry also interned with the Office of the General Counsel at National Public Radio in Washington, DC.
